All you’re doing with these far out, intangible 5 & 10 year goals is making an excuse to not take advantage of today. It’s far away enough that the effects of this 24 hour period seem inconsequential but those long term goals don’t happen without every single individual day in between. Do you think all these years I was counting down the days to 2,000 morning runs? No, I had day one happen over and over again. I consistently took advantage of the isolated day in front of me to the fullest extent and allowed that effort to be as constant as time. As soon as that approach becomes your default, your future self is automatically taken care of.
