Healthy choices are easy to make if you know this

It's crazy that most people still won't take advantage...

Making healthy choices is really easy once you’ve been given the permission to.

Here you go *permission*

That should solve the problem…

Okay I’m kidding but also not really. Once you see that someone else has built a healthy lifestyle on simplicity, it becomes pretty evident that you can do the same.

For whatever reason, it’s become a cultural understanding that healthy habits are too difficult and expensive to maintain. It’s a lie of course but most people buy into it.

They’ll see that buying healthy food costs more per meal and think that actually means it’s more expensive. What they’re missing is that the healthy meal will likely be worlds more satiating, making the cost per calorie much less.

On top of that, a healthy lifestyle is much cheaper than always having health complications that you have to see the doctor for. Plus when he sells you his favorite medication, there’s more money down the drain on retainer.

There are two driving forces in the average diet:

  1. Convenience

  2. Variety

Convenience is a killer because people will sacrifice their health to preserve momentary comfort.

Don’t wanna make dinner? Just order a shitty fast-food meal on doordash… A very quick and easy way to disregard what really matters.

Seeking variety can be a great way to experience new flavors and it can be a huge waste of mental energy if it’s taken too far. It’s crazy to me that people approach the question “what’s for dinner” with damn near the scientific method.

I eat the same thing every single day but I’m not necessarily encouraging everyone to do the same. Maybe you prioritize experiencing different foods a little higher than I do and that’s totally fine as long as you’re going about it mindfully.

For example, I haven’t eaten store bought ice cream in around 9 years but within the last year, I learned to make homemade ice cream that has about 5 total ingredients and tastes exactly like what I grew up on.

The cool thing is that it’s a pain in the ass to make so the inconvenience yields a pretty high appreciation for when I get to eat it. Plus, it’s really hard to over-eat something that you never feel like making haha.

If you really want to make healthy lifestyle changes, it’s not so hard to do and the information on how to do it is at your fingertips. You just have to be willing to get a little uncomfortable as you challenge the societal norm of being mindless and unhealthy.

You got this.
