I guess today doesn't matter right?
Or does it...
Cru’s Letter
If you do the right thing today, tomorrow probably won’t feel that different.
If you do the wrong thing today, tomorrow probably won’t feel that different.
What does this tell us?
The impact of the decisions we make isn’t always obvious on the scale of one day. If you eat like shit today, it’s not the end of the world.
If you eat healthy food today, you probably won’t feel that much better.
However…
Some people are incredibly healthy and capable while some people can’t even move as a result of their gluttony. That right there is the compounding effect of the “one” unhealthy OR healthy meal.
You can do something once and the immediate effect isn’t outstanding but it gets stored in your subconscious.
When you see that eating like shit doesn’t do that much harm you might think, “that wasn’t so bad” and you’ll convince yourself of the same on more and more occasions.
Then
You stack that no big deal behavior enough times and you find yourself in a hole of regret.
Positive behavior applies inversely in that you have to look very closely to see its value so repeating the behavior becomes more and more compelling.
The point is…
What you do today MATTERS.
A lot.
Just because life doesn’t change drastically doesn’t mean your efforts don’t have an impact so keep showing up to the small things that make life better.
