Cru’s Letter

There’s someone close to you that knows exactly what decisions you should make today…

They’ve experienced something you haven’t and they have insanely valuable information but the cool thing is that you can talk to them at any point. That conversation just won’t happen by itself so you’re gonna have to speak up.

Have you ever felt like you wish you could go back in time, even if just for something simple? If yes, how many times do you think that’s happened?

Thousands? Millions?

Regardless of the number, we’ve all been there. We’ve all looked back on a past self from years ago, or even minutes ago and wished we did something different.

“Why did I waste that entire day?”

“I should’ve spent the last year working on something I’m actually passionate about.”

“Why did I skip the gym? Now I feel like shit.”

In the moments of realization, the clarity is amazing because hindsight truly is 20/20 and it makes you wonder, “how could I have been so blind?”

It’s because you didn’t have the conversation with the person that knew what you should’ve done all along…

Now look, we all make mistakes and trying to fully avoid that is impossible but why waste energy on unnecessary ones when you’ve only got so much time and energy in the day?

To make the right mistakes and avoid the wrong ones, talk to that person that has already watched the day, year, or lifetime play out…

Your future self.

If you’ve already been the future self thousands or millions of times (you have whether you know it or not), then you can ask your future self of right NOW for guidance. If you’re deciding between going to the gym and sitting on your ass, what do you think your future self would tell you to do?

Too many people listen to their immediate self who is riddled with volatile emotions and bad advice. The immediate self wants comfort. The future self, on the other hand, wants gratification, character, and overcoming.

I don’t think I have to repeat which self is the better one to listen to but I will anyway…

The future self. The voice is there, just tune in and listen.

Spend today making tonight’s self proud. Spend this week making next week’s self proud. Spend this year making your 2027 self proud. Spend your life making your deathbed self proud.
