The problem with “maybe”

If your ideal life was guaranteed and you just had to put the work in to get there, you’d do it. It’s this perception of uncertainty and risk that you think poses such a heavy threat but the work to reach that ideal is literally the guarantee itself.

If you treat your goals like such a maybe then you’re setting yourself up for them to maybe work out. But the problem with “maybe” is that you’d be keeping around something called the option to quit. To cope with the uncertainty of getting what you want by having an option that guarantees you don’t get it doesn’t seem like a hopeful approach.

Maybe if your mind was set on fulfilling everything you’re looking for, your behavior would follow suit and make it happen.
