we’ve lost the ability to listen

We all grow up seeing examples of the consequences...

CRU MAHONEY

We all grow up seeing examples of the consequences that come from destructive behavior but for some reason,

people have to see it for themselves and start the vicious cycle from square one.

What I wonder is why the examples of strength and extraordinary human accomplishment

aren’t more compelling to follow.

Why don’t we see the opportunity to learn from the lives that came before us

and adopt that library of knowledge in the early stages of our own experience?

The fact that people basically wait until they become a parent to simply grasp what their parents tried to teach them

just shows that we’ve lost the ability to listen.

Imagine how much better the world could be if genuine observation and curiosity

were mainstream.
