To find your confidence and purpose exclusively in external things is to set yourself up for pain and disappointment. It’s a tough road out there when the example set by others is nothing but a strong pursuit toward things and people that are treated like things, and it’s all in the absence of introspective progress.
 

If your whole life revolves around some sort of monetary goal or gamified lifestyle, who are you if every bit of that is taken away?
 

Who are you when there’s no work, no business, no hobbies, nobody around?
