Cru’s Letter

Remove the stress of what you don’t control as much as you can.

The “news” is gonna get you all wrapped up in drama. Try to realize that the horrors of the world get better when you focus on yourself, not when you spend your precious energy on conflict and hate.

This might sound irresponsible but when it comes to the news, I say “there’s no way for me to know the full truth, therefore I’m not gonna act like the people feeding into conflict are actually educating me and worth my time.”

If you find yourself concerned with everyone and everything that’s happening in this world, take a deep breath and say this very powerful word: whatever.

If you see every terrible thing that happens in every part of the world on instagram, how the hell are you supposed to have enough energy to feel bad for everyone? How is it productive to always be mad at something?

All this does is keep your focus off of what really matters. You have to be well-versed in foreign conflict but I guarantee 99% of people can’t even tell you who lives on their street or in their apartment building. What a poor use of attention and energy.

If your mind feels overwhelmed with all the crap you’re used to getting worked up over, try tapping into some “screw it” energy.

“Ahh the world is on fire?” “screw it.”

Sounds kinda funny but when you can stop taking everything so seriously, you can create a lot of room in your mind and waste so much less brain power.
