Cru’s Letter
Yesterday, I heard someone say “happy Friday eve!” and I almost lost my mind…
So you’re telling me that the week ending is basically a holiday? That’s sad.
Imagine:
You wake up Monday morning and dread what the day holds.
You do everything in your power to distract yourself with work, drama, scrolling, etc. to make it to the end of the day as fast as possible.
You finally get home after a long day of working on something that doesn’t excite you and you get a taste of freedom that will last just until the next morning.
You go to sleep to the thought of the fact that tomorrow is only Tuesday…
On Tuesday, you wake up and dread what the day holds.
You repeat a similar day to the one before.
And again.
And again.
Then finally, it’s Friday. The day we’ve all been waiting for where the REAL freedom is just around the corner.
The day grants you a bit of extra energy.
You see the light at the end of the tunnel and then finally you reach the light: Friday evening.
What a blessing that the fun has just begun and there are two whole days of possibility ahead.
Friday ends pretty quick but never fear, Saturday is here.
Sleep in? Sure. Breakfast and TV? Sure. Gym? C’monnn it’s the weekend.
You enjoy the flexibility with a bit of tiktok, snacks, lunch with busy friends and then a gradual build of adrenaline in preparation for the night out.
What better way to have some real fun than to smoke a beer or five?
The rest of the night is hard to remember but going into Sunday, it definitely leaves a mark.
Sunday feels heavy because, sure, it’s the weekend but Monday seems a little too close for celebration.
On the other side of laundry mountain and recovery from the night before, the biggest fear has arrived…
Sunday night.
And the freedom you work so hard to achieve is being taken from you once again because it’s already Monday morning…
And it’s 50 years later than the first time you entered this cycle.
The idea of this should scare the hell out of you.
The fact that what I’ve outlined is the average life cycle of the modern day human should also scare the hell out of you.
You deserve so much better.
